1. What you are buying

You are purchasing a non-exclusive, revocable display slot on thethroneproject.com. The display period begins when your payment is confirmed and approved, and ends the moment another user pays more.

It may last any amount of time, including zero.

You are not purchasing goods, advertising inventory with guaranteed impressions, a subscription, a security, an investment, a token, or any property interest of any kind.

2. Payments are final

All payments are final. There are no refunds, credits, or partial refunds, for any reason, including a display period shorter than you expected or hoped for, and including a display period of zero.

Any refund we choose to issue outside the two automatic refunds described in section 12 is a one-time act of discretion, is not an admission of any kind, and creates no obligation to issue another.

3. Removal without refund

We may remove, redact, hide, delay, or refuse to display any Content at any time, with or without notice, in our sole discretion. Payment buys the opportunity to be displayed, not a guarantee of display and not any minimum duration.

If your Content is removed because it violates the Content Policy, your payment is forfeited in full and no refund will be issued.

We may also delay display while Content is reviewed. If we do not approve reviewed Content within 24 hours, we will refund it in full. Where Content is approved after review, your display period begins at approval. We may hide links whose destination later changes, becomes unavailable, or is reported as malicious, without refund.

The Content Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms part of them. Read it before you pay.

4. Licence you grant us

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licence to host, reproduce, adapt for display, publish, publicly display and distribute your Content on the site, in social-media link previews, in The Fallen public archive, and in screenshots or promotional material about the site.

The Fallen archive is permanent. Your name, message and the amount you paid remain publicly visible there after your reign ends. We will honour deletion requests where the law requires it — see the Privacy Policy.

5. What you promise us

• You own or have the right to submit the Content and every link in it.
• The Content is lawful in the United States and infringes nobody’s rights.
• You are at least 18 years old.
• You are the authorized holder of the payment method you use.
• You are not located in or ordinarily resident in a comprehensively sanctioned country, and you are not on any US restricted-party list.

6. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless The Throne Project against any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your links, or your breach of these Terms.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback rather than contacting support, we may remove your Content immediately, dethrone you, remove you from the leaderboard and the archive, decline future claims, and recover our costs.

A claim whose payment is reversed, disputed, or refunded is void: its content is removed, it stops counting toward the leaderboard and totals, and the throne price is recalculated from the highest remaining valid claim.

8. Third-party links

Links displayed on the site are submitted by users who paid to display them. We do not vet, verify, endorse, control, or take responsibility for any linked site. Visiting a linked site is entirely at your own risk.

Report a harmful link to abuse@thethroneproject.com. We act on reports in the zero-tolerance categories within 4 hours, and on all other reports typically within 24 hours.

9. No warranty; the service may change or end

The site is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may change, suspend or end the site at any time. If the site ends, payments already made are not refunded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the site is capped at the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) USD 100.

We exclude indirect, incidental, consequential, special and punitive damages, and lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Some jurisdictions do not permit these exclusions, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.

11. This is not gambling, a prize promotion, or a security

There is no prize and no payout to any user. Outcomes are determined solely by the amounts users pay, which are publicly displayed at all times. There is no element of chance.

You will never receive money, tokens, equity, or anything of value from us.

12. Price mechanics, and what happens in a simultaneous race

The asking price is the higher of 120% of what the sitting ruler paid and what they paid plus 50 cents, rounded up to a clean 50-cent step, with a floor of $0.50 and a ceiling of $10,000 on any single claim. You may pay any amount at or above the asking price and at or below the ceiling; the next minimum is then computed from what you actually paid.

If nobody claims the throne for 48 hours, the asking price — and only the asking price — decays by 10% per day. Decay never changes what anyone has already paid, never rewrites history, and never dethrones anyone. The sitting ruler reigns until someone outpays them.

The price can change between the moment you open checkout and the moment your payment is confirmed. If another claim at a higher amount is confirmed first, you will not receive the throne. Your claim will still be recorded publicly with a zero-second reign.

In that case we will refund you in full, automatically. This is a promise, not a discretion.

13. Operator participation

The operator and its affiliates do not claim the throne, and do not place claims to influence the displayed price.

14. Versioning

These Terms are versioned. The version in force at the moment you pay governs your claim, and the exact text you accepted is recorded with your claim. Every past version stays publicly archived.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the courts of the operator’s home jurisdiction. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of your own country of residence.
